SYDNEY, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Two men are facing life imprisonment after being charged by Australian authorities over separate attempts to import cocaine into Sydney.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) said in a statement on Saturday that a 40-year-old man from inner-Sydney was arrested on Friday after allegedly attempting to possess 30 kg of cocaine that was imported by a transnational drug trafficking syndicate.
In a separate case, the AFP and Australian Border Force said on Friday night in a joint statement that a 28-year-old foreigner was arrested after 10 kg of cocaine was found in his luggage on arrival at the Sydney International Airport on Thursday. ■
